Abstract
The study analyzes the knowledge levels of students from the first to the fourth year of the Universidade Anhembi Morumbi of the medical course on melanoma, so that it is possible to verify if there are learning or study failures in this theme, since the prognosis is closely related to the staging of the disease, therefore, early diagnosis favors better prognosis besides cheapening the cost of treatment and follow-up afterwards. The study verified from the application of a questionnaire, carried out specifically for this investigation, that in large part the students do not have enough basis to carry out the diagnosis, conduct, follow-up or even safe referral regarding melanoma. Thus, it can harm the patient's prognosis and also make treatment more expensive, burdening both the public health system and private health insurances and patients.
