Abstract

Androgenetic alopecia is a frequent complaint in dermatological offices and has a strong psychosocial influence on sufferers. Therefore, promising therapeutic alternatives should be used. Therefore, a systematic review was carried out on the use of dutasteride through mesotherapy. Explore international and national scientific articles with the purpose of preparing a judgment on the use of intralesional dutasteride in patients diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia. It refers to an integrative literature review based on publications in the following databases: PubMed, Google Scholar, SciELO and BVS, from 2009 to 2022. Twenty articles were found and reviewed, of which 80% were published in the last five years. The use of mesotherapy with dutasteride has been used as a promising alternative in patients who cannot tolerate the use of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors in their systemic form, since, in addition to being a minimally invasive procedure, it also has a low risk of serious adverse effects.
