Abstract

Known as important agents in combating and controlling dermatological diseases, such as severe acne, the use of probiotics has contributed to the balance of the skin's microbiota, significantly helping to reduce the inflammation of acne. Identify and analyze Acne Vulgaris, as well as the effectiveness of the therapeutic action in the use of probiotics as an alternative drug therapy for this type of disease. This is a narrative review, carried out through the collection of scientific data from national and international databases carried out through Pubmed, Medline, Lilacs and Scielo databases, of articles published in the period from 2017 to 2022. Probiotics have been considered as a possible alternative treatment for acne to reduce the risk of antibiotic- resistant C. acnes and for this reason have been used as immunomodulators in inflammatory skin conditions such as inflammatory acne. Individuals with acne have benefited from the use of this therapeutic method, since it has no side effects and its results have improved their quality of life and increased self-esteem in these patients.
