Abstract
In modern society, the earlobe is of great importance due to the use of jewelry and adornments (piercings and enlargement piercings). As it is a structure with greater tissue fragility, the use of enlargement piercings and heavy earrings can lead to laceration of the orifice made in the lobe, and lobuloplasty is indicated to correct the defect.
The objective of this report was to demonstrate, through images and the description of the surgical technique, lobuloplasty and Helix reconstruction, performed due to the laceration of the patient's right lobe by an enlargement piercing and Helix by bite.
Male patient, used an ear lobe enlargement of varying sizes for 7 years, resulting in deformity and total right lobe section. He was also a victim of a bite trauma that partially amputated Helix. The reconstruction was done in 3 stages.
The patient was satisfied with the result obtained related to scars formation, shape, and quality. The objective of reconstructing the lobe and Helix was achieved without suffering from any part of the flaps used.
Reconstruction of the earlobe and Helix using an anterior lobe flap, proved to be effective in correcting the defects described.
