Abstract
The hair follicle is part of the skin system, being one of its a6achments. The aging brings with it visible and invisible changes in the hair, among them associated with the loss of color, loss of shine and even the increase of opacity. The objective is to describe what is capillary aging and what are its phases. This is a bibliographic review. As inclusion criteria we use only studies with a minimum of 10 years of publication, in addition to studies in English, Spanish and Portuguese and exclusion languages we have others that do not fit the inclusion criteria. We can see that the article comprises 65% national studies and 35% international studies.The importance of knowing the stages of hair growth and aging was seen. The dermatologist is the professional who is best suited to carry out an accurate and assertive diagnosis in order to exclude other variables such as androgenetic alopecia, among others
